Theft A caller on Aug. 20 reported someone broke the window on his truck while it was parked in a parking lot on Lake Street. A caller on Aug. 20 reported an Ipod and change were stolen from her vehicle on Pioneer Avenue.
Found A caller on Aug. 20 found a wallet on Sterling Highway and Pioneer Avenue. The police contacted the wallet’s owner and it was returned to him. A caller on Aug. 20 said he found a purse on the Spit Road and would bring it by Homer Police Station if the owner didn’t claim it. Fraud A caller on Aug. 20 reported possible real estate fraud and was advised by the Kenai District Attorney office to contact Homer Police, who gave options and advised them to contact a civil attorney.
Bears A caller reported Aug. 20 there had been a black bear on her back deck on Bartlett Street.
Cooper Landing On Aug. 20 at 12:53 p.m., Troopers from Cooper Landing and Seward stopped a vehicle near mile 43 of the Sterling Highway for multiple traffic violations. The driver was contacted and a check of driving records showed that his license was revoked and he was required to have an ignition interlock device installed in any vehicle he drove. Further investigation showed that he did not have insurance on the vehicle and he did not have an ignition interlock device installed on the vehicle. He was arrested and booked into the Seward Jail where bail was set at $1250.
Fishing violations On Aug. 17, Anchor Point Wildlife Troopers cited a 31-year-old man from Montana for retaining a steelhead salmon taken from the waters of the Anchor River. His fine was set at $130. On Aug. 19, Anchor Point Wildlife Troopers cited a 24-year-old Homer woman for personal use fishing with a gillnet in closed waters. On the same date, they also cited a 25-year old man of Homer for personal use fishing in closed waters with a gillnet. A 24-year-old Juneau man was also cited. On Aug. 21, Anchor Point Wildlife Troopers cited a 21-year-old Homer man for allegedly making a false statement on a sport fishing license application. His fine was set at $310. On Aug. 22, Anchor Point Wildlife Troopers cited a 79-year-old man from Georgia for retaining a coho salmon that was hooked elsewhere than in the mouth from the waters of the Anchor River. His fine was set at $130.
