Warriors split games with Birchwood Christian

The Nikolaevsk Lady Warriors sent a clear message to the rest of the Peninsula Conference teams on Friday. The message was simple — the Lady Warriors are for real.

Nikolaevsk kicked off its conference schedule with a 47-35 victory over Birchwood Christian.

The Lady Warriors didn't waste any time in putting Birchwood Christian on its heels. Elizabeth Fefelov and the NHS offense scorched the Lady Rams with a 17-2 start and never looked back.

Fefelov finished the game as Nikolaevsk's top scorer with 16 points.

Kristin Klaich also starred for the Lady Warriors, scoring eight points. Zoya Fefelov added six, while teammates Jodie Kain and Markiana Yakunin each notched five.

The Birchwood Christian boys' prevented a Nikolaevsk sweep with a 43-37 victory over the Warriors.

Despite the loss, the Warriors picked up solid outings from several players, including Kelmik Molodih, who pumped in a team-high 18 points. Kosta Nikitenko added six points, while Michael Trail pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.
