Alice's shows will continue into the New Year
December 27th, 2017 | Staff Report
The Salmonfest/Alice's music series starts thc new year with a bang. Live music is the best remedy for cabin fever coming in January.
Tom Petty Tribute
The month starts with the return of a Tom Petty Tribute for a very special performance on Jan. 13. If you were at the show last year, you know it was one of the highlights of the year, in a year with some big highlights. Sadly, it is even more poignant this time. Don't miss what promises to be one of the most energetic and poignant shows we've had. The tickets will be $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
The Moxie Strings will play on Jan. 20. The band plays with a "top notch instrumental wizardry,'' composing the majority of their pieces and arranging melodies from many traditions, resulting in a genr? blurring blend of ear-catching melodies and foot-stomping, rock-influenced rhythms. For this show, tickets will be priced at $10 in advance, and $15 at the door.
Gordie Tentrees will have the stage on Jan. 26. Tentrees is a Yukon-based, Ontario-raised farm boy/golden gloves boxer, school teacher, youth counselor turned folk artist.
Tentrees has an amazing ability to hold an audience in the palm of his hands (both during and between songs). His music is deeply personal, moving, melodic and sometimes humorous. This will be a free show.
Coming Jan. 27 to finish the month is Steve Poltz. If you were at the 2017 Salmonfest, you might be one of the many who felt Steve "stole the show" even amidst a whirlwind of incredible performances. Don't miss Steve's first-ever trip to Homer and Alice's. Tickets for the show will be $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
Pre-sale tickets on sale at the Homer Bookstore, Olde Inlet Bookshope and at Alice's. For more information, call Hannah at 435-7867.
