Homer High School is hosting a basketball Senior Night on Monday, Feb. 24, for varsity girls and boys. In conjunction with the event, the teams will raise money for breast cancer awareness and research through a “Think Pink”-themed evening. Everyone is invited to support the Mariners in their last home game of the season, and be sure to wear pink to the game in support of breast cancer awareness.

Kachemak Nordic Ski Club will host its annual Wine and Cheese and Wooden Skis tour Sunday Feb. 16 from noon to 4 p.m. At the Lookout Mountain Recreation Area Trails. Dress in your best classic costumes, or ski on wooden skis. The first stop on the tour is available from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m., while the second is open from 2-4 p.m.
The fee is $25 for Kachemak Nordic Ski Club members, $35 for non-members and $10 for youth ages 11-21. Children under 10 are free.
Don’t forget your photo ID and a designated driver.Bring the family, but please leave dogs at home. The Ohlson Mountain Trails area is a dog-free zone.

Despite a heady wind and a few downed trees, Homer senior Brian Rowe took third and fifth place at the Kenai Peninsula Borough High School Cross-Country Ski Championships Friday and Saturday at Tsalteshi Trails.
Aspen Daigle took third in Saturday’s 5k race.
