Police Report – Jan. 29

A caller reported a possibly intoxicated driver near Ben Walters Lane and Lakeside, subject was arrested for DUI and lodged at the Homer Jail.
A caller reported handicapped parking being used by non-licensed vehicles.
A caller reported a suicide attempt, officers to scene
A report of items stolen from a boat on Spit Road was received
A caller reported a vehicle speeding in the neighborhood near Bunnell Ave. and Beluga Place

Alaska State Troopers
On Jan. 21, at 11:30 p.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to a single vehicle roll over at mile 168 of the Sterling Highway. Cheryl Richardson, age 55, of Anchor Point was driving south bound when she lost control of the vehicle crossing the centerline, over corrected and exited the roadway into the south bound ditch. The car rolled and wound up on the driver’s side. KESA EMS responded and extricated Richardson. She was transported to South Peninsula Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

On Jan. 22 at 3:21 p.m., troopers contacted Todd Searson, 25, of Homer during a traffic stop in Homer. Investigation revealed Searson was a fugitive from justice in the state of Arizona for drug and weapons charges and that he had an outstanding arrest warrant in Alaska for Driving While License Revoked. Searson was arrested for being a Fugitive From Justice and on the Alaska warrant. He was remanded to the Homer Jail.
