With a 21-0 record and championship titles in both the Peninsula Powerplay Tourney, and the Big Lake Tournament, Homer’s PeeWee C hockey team continues to steamroll past its opponents.
On Saturday, the Homer PeeWee Cs beat the Kenai Peninsula Hockey Association girls team 11-1. Tyler Gililand turned a hat trick, while Ethan Pitzman, Isaiah Nevak and Phineas Weston each scored two goals.
Also scoring goals for Homer were Tommy Bridgeman and Tucker Weston. Goalie Hunter Warren had six saves, and gave up only one goal.
The Homer squad took on the same KPHA girls team later that day, and saw almost the exact same results. This time, Homer found the back of the net 10 times, but also still gave up the single goal.
Nevak would get the hat trick for this game, and added an extra goal for a little insurance. Gililand scored two goals, while Pitzman, Liam Coleman, Kaitlyn Johnson and Karl Wickstrom each scored one goal in the game.
Warren logged a total of seven saves for the game.
The PeeWees rested up overnight, before tackling the regular KPHA team in another doubleheader on Sunday.
In the early game on Sunday, Homer again dominated the rink, but spread their eight goals among several team members this time. Goaltender Warren held KPHA scoreless with 11 saves.
Nevak scored two goals in the game, while single goals were scored by Claire Bryant, Colby Marion, Nicholas Reutov, Phineas Weston, Gililand and Pitzman.
In Homer’s final game of the series, they handed KPHA its second loss of the day. Homer players were again consistent in finding the net, shutting out KPHA with another 8-0 win.
Pitzman, a forward, was Homer’s high-scorer, picking up two goals. Conner Roderick, Tucker Weston, Bryant, Gililand, Nevak and Reutov each scored one goal. Goalie Warren didn’t see much action at the net, as he only had to turn away two shots.
For the season so far, Pitzman leads the team with 43 goals and 15 assists. Nevak has 26 goals and 14 assists, and Phineas Weston has 13 goals and 16 assists.
The PeeWees next home games are scheduled for Jan. 25 and 26 — against the same two teams. All games are played at Kevin Bell Arena.

Homer Squirt D team also picked up wins against Kenai on Saturday; one by a score of 12-5, and the second a 7-0 shutout. In the second game, Kenai didn’t even get one shot on the Homer team.
