In a letter to the State of Alaska Board of Dental Examiners, Homer’s Dr. David E. Nelson voluntarily surrendered his Alaska license to practice dentistry earlier this month. As of Jan. 22, the board effectively accepted the surrender.
“I am surrendering my license at this time with the understanding that the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing is conducting investigations alleging incompetence and failure to conform to minimum professional standards and has initiated an administrative proceeding to suspend, revoke or otherwise sanction my Alaska dental license,” Nelson wrote in the letter. “I am surrendering my license at this time in lieu of suspension, revocation or other licensing action.”
With board approval of this decision, Nelson cannot practice dentistry in Alaska. He also stated in his letter that he will not seek reinstatement of his Alaska license.
Nelson also holds a professional dentistry license in the state of Wisconsin.
Earlier this month, Carrs/Safeway launched the “just for U”™ program in Alaska. It is the first online and mobile savings tool of its kind, giving shoppers an easier way to save more on groceries. Shoppers can save when and where it’s most convenient by signing up for free at Carrsqc.com or safeway.com, or by accessing just for U through the mobile app for iPhone or Android.
Just for U personalizes the shopping experience based on the purchase history of each shopper. Deals are offered on items a shopper most frequently buys, as well as items they might be interested in.
Shoppers can access hundreds of digital coupons, download personalized deals for special prices and view weekly club card specials based on previous purchases. New offers are added each week.
