Fire – Week of Dec. 2-8
Homer Volunteer Fire Department responded to 16 emergency medical calls and no fire calls.
Kachemak Emergency Service responded to two fire calls and one EMS call.
Anchor Point Fire and EMS responded to four medical calls and one fire call.
Alaska State Troopers
On Dec. 4, at 9:18 a.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to a reported vehicle rollover on East End Road in Homer. Troopers discovered a 1992 Subaru Loyale off the road and on its side. The vehicle had significant damage and was unoccupied. Investigation revealed an 18-year-old Homer woman was driving east on Dec. 3 around 11:30 p.m. She lost control of the vehicle, at which time it struck a telephone junction box and rolled. The woman reported wearing her seat belt and sustained minor injuries. She did not make any attempts to report the crash to law enforcement, and was subsequently issued a misdemeanor citation for failing to give immediate notice of an accident.
Criminal Mischief: A man went to the police department and reported being targeted with an air pellet gun by unknown persons in a car the previous night. An officer advised him of his options.
Public Assist: A principal of a local school reported a problem student and parent.
Liquor Law Violations: A caller reported a disagreement when refusing service to an intoxicated man. An officer escorted the man from the store, and he was trespassed from the store for one year.
Disorderly Conduct: A caller reported a man starting a fire in her fire pit and acting strangely. Officers responded to the scene on Bay Vista Circle, and the man was arrested for disorderly conduct and housed in Homer Jail.
Assault: A third party reported one vehicle cut off another in a local parking lot, the drivers argued, one assaulted the other and then both left the area.
Suspicious Circumstances: An anonymous caller reported someone selling wreaths in front of a local business on East End Road, which she believed were unauthorized.
Drug Information: A caller reported hypodermic needles on a local beach. An officer was advised.
Medical Assistance: A caller reported a man downin a ditch. Some officers and EMS went to the sceneon Waddell Way and transported the man to South Peninsula Hospital.
Shoplifting: Ulmer’s reported observing a person on a video shoplifting last Thursday. An officer was advised.
