Shots ring out at residence in Anchor Point

Staff report
Homer Tribune
Troopers responded at about 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 6 to reports of shots being fired at a residence located on Lois Huber Avenue in Anchor Point.
When troopers arrived they could hear two males arguing at the top of the drive, according to an affidavit.  From their position in the woods troopers recognized Richard Strassburg, 46, and Donovan J. Lee, 39. After stepping out and identifying themselves as police officers, Trooper Chaffin observed that Strassberg and Lee allegedly had silver in color handguns, in their right hands.
Lee turned away and began running toward the woods still holding the handgun, according to charging documents. Troopers ordered him to drop the gun and he complied by throwing it behind him in to the driveway.
Strassburg dropped the handgun in his right hand but immediately placed his right hand behind his back. After troopers ordered him to show his hand, he removed it from his back allegedly holding a black handgun. He moved it to the front of his body, then dropped it.
Both Lee and Strassburg have been charged with felony counts of assault in the third degree.
