HCOA is looking for committed volunteers to help with major projects before and during the Nutcracker Faire, Dec. 7 and 8, at the Homer High School Commons. Call your friends and volunteer together, or join the team and meet new friends.
1. Stage Team (2-4 volunteers) As a team, you find performers, schedule performance times, set up the stage (decorations and sound equipment) and manage the stage throughout the fair. Those who have done this in the past would be glad to share their expertise.
3. HCOA Food Booth Team (4-6 volunteers)
Committed volunteers will work together to organize, prepare and work in the booth for both days of the fair. This will be a group effort that will start in the next few weeks.

Average gas prices fall
Average retail gasoline prices in Alaska have fallen 1.6 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.66/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 398 gas outlets in Alaska. This compares with the national average that has fallen 5.4 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.20/g.
Including the change in gas prices in Alaska during the past week, prices yesterday were 28.9 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 19.8 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 17.4 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 26.7 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.
