Police Report – September 18

Homer Volunteer Fire Department responded to 13 Emergency Medical Service calls and one fire call for the week of Sept. 9 – 15.

Sept. 9
Missing Adult: A caller reported their adult son had been missing for over a week in the Homer area. An officer was advised.

Sept. 10
Violation of Conditional Release: A  caller reported being assaulted. A few officers reported to the scene on Ocean Drive and arrested a woman for violating the conditions of her release.
Abandoned Vehicle: A local hotel reported impounding a car that had been abandoned for a week.
Traffic Warning: A driver is warned for driving against the flow of traffic.

Sept. 11
Suicide Attempt: A 911 caller reported he was having a manic episode and might hurt himself. Some officers went to the scene on Main Street and transported the man to SPH.
Burglary: Two 911 callers reported a break in at a local establishment on East Pioneer Avenue. An officer went to the scene.
Suspicious Circumstances: A caller reported their main electrical box had been tampered with on Ternview.

Sept. 12
Prowler/Peeping Tom: A 911 caller reported a prowler outside of their residence on Frisbee Court. An officer went to the scene but was unable to locate anyone suspicious.
Found Property: A business called to report a man had entered their establishment, dropped his backpack in a luggage bin, against instructions not to and walked away.  An officer went to the scene, collected the abandoned property, saw the man on the side of the road and returned lost property.

Sept. 13
Trespass: An officer conducted a security check on a local business on Heath Street. The officer contacted  a man and the arrested him for trespassing and took him to the Homer jail.
Drugs/School: A caller reported a student with drugs on school grounds. An officer went to the scene on Ben Walters Lane and a subject was arrested for fourth degree misconduct involving a controlled substance.
Disturbance: A caller reported two intoxicated men causing a disturbance and would not leave. The men left when told the police had been called.

Sept. 15
Agency Assist: A caller reported a sparking/glowing power line. HEA was informed and an officer went to the area to insure safety.

Sept. 16
Suspicious Circumstances: Petro Express reported a man acting suspiciously in the store. The man fled the store when confronted by a customer.
Drug Information: A caller stated that there was a syringe and a spoon outside of a Pioneer Avenue business. An officer was advised.
Welfare Check: A caller reported a man lying in the dirt acting oddly. An officer went to the area on Beluga Place and found all was ok.
