Police Report – August 11

Sept. 2-8
Homer Volunteer Fire Department responded to 12 emergency medical service calls and four fire calls.
Anchor Point Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to one medical call.
Kachemak Emergency Services responded to one fire call.

Kachemak Emergency Services Area Board will holding its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the McNeil Canyon Fire Station, 53048 Ashwood Ave. (Mile 12 East End Road.) The public is welcome to attend. Call 235-9811 for further information.

Sept. 3
Public Assist: An officer contacted an ENSTAR employee’s about a  natural gas odor in the area of Soundview Avenue and the Sterling Highway. ENSTAR reported that they were purging the lines and all was OK.

Sept. 4
Suicide Attempt: A 911 caller reported a suicidal man on Main Street. Officers responded and transported the man to South Peninsula Hospital.
Criminal Mischief: A caller reported damage to a retaining wall by unknown bicyclists and requested extra patrols of the area.
Trespass: ERA reported a man in the restrooms all morning who would not leave. Officers went to the scene on FAA Road, but the man had already left the restrooms.
Suspicious Circumstances: A caller reported two racks of unknown animal ribs on the side of a trail. Officers responded to the scene.
Drug investigation: An officer seized a small amount of drugs and paraphernalia from a vehicle on Campground Road.

Sept. 5
Trespass: A caller reported a man sleeping in the post office. An officer responded and found the man to be trespassing.
Trespass: A 911 caller reported a man and woman had been sleeping in the lobby of an apartment building on Ben Walters Lane. An officer responded and the couple was trespassed from the area.
Domestic Dispute: A 911 caller reported coming to his Klondike Avenue home and finding his wife intoxicated, with a black eye and throwing things around. An officer responded.

Sept. 7
Welfare Check: A 911 caller reported a man standing at Mile 1 of the Spit Road, waving his arms. An officer responded, contacted the man and gave him a ride to his campsite.

Sept. 8
Damage Property: A caller reported juveniles vandalizing a foreclosed property on Early Spring Street. An officer responded and contacted the juveniles’ parents.
Traffic: An anonymous caller reported a chronic speeder in the area of West Fairview Avenue and Bartlett Street. Extra patrol was requested.
