Police Report – August 28

Aug. 19-25.
Homer Volunteer Fire Department responded to 10 EMS calls.
Kachemak Emergency Services responded to two motor vehicle accidents and one medical emergency call.
Anchor Point Fire & EMS responded to eight medical calls and two fire calls.

Aug. 19
Missing Adult: A caller reported her elderly spouse was missing from their residence on Bayview Court. An officer searched the area, found the husband and gave him a ride home.

Aug. 20
Welfare Check: A caller reported a barefoot man kneeling in the gravel in the catholic church parking lot. An officer went to check on the man.
Animal-Related Complaint: A caller reported numerous kittens trying to cross the road. An officer went to the area, but assumed that the kittens had crossed safely since he didn’t find any of them.

Aug. 22
Animal-Related Complaint: Multiple callers reported horses running down East End Road. Some officers went to the area and corralled the horses.
Shoplifting: Safeway reported one female and two males shoplifting and leaving the store with stolen items. An officer reported to the scene.
Drug/School: Homer High School reported a male student in posession of marijuana. An officer went to the school.
Threats: A anonymous 911 caller reported four men had threatened him with pistols after he had approached their car for money they owed him.

Aug. 23
Warrant Arrest: A anonymous 911 caller reported seeing a wanted man at a local business. An officer responded, arrested the man on an outstanding warrant and took him to Homer Jail.
Suspicious Circumstances: A caller reported juveniles climbing on the roof of a local business on E. Pioneer Ave. An officer contacted the kids and their parents and gave one of them a ride home.
Animal-Related Offense: A woman called to report a sea lion trapped in a subsistence fishing net. The Seward Sealife Center was notified.

Aug. 25
Animal-Related Complaint: A caller reported an injured porcupine.

Aug. 26
Traffic Hazard: An officer removed a deceased porcupine from the Sterling Highway.
