Lady M’s take 2nd place at Lumen Christi

The Homer Lady Mariner JV team took second place at the Lumen Christi in Seward over the weekend. The girls beat the Wasilla C-Team 47-30 and Dimond JV 41-17 before falling 23-22 to the host Seward Seahawks in the championship game. The Mariner boys split their team between the Lumen Christi Tourney, where they won the championship title, and the Tip-off Tournament in Soldotna. There, they struggled against larger and stronger squads and placed eighth. Both Mariner varsity squads head to Anchorage this weekend for the Grace Christian Basketball Tournament. The girls JV team will compete at the Chugiak Tourney.
