HCOA brings Matt Anderson
Homer Council on the Arts brings acclaimed singer/songwriter and guitarist Matt Andersen to Homer High School’s Mariner Theatre on Sunday, Jan. 13.
Anderson hails from New Brunswick and grew up in a musical home. After trying his hand at tuba and trumpet, he took up guitar at 14 and never looked back.
According to Anderson, he was first introduced to blues through Eric Clapton and B.B. King, which then led to “Chicago electric stuff and eventually back to the Mississippi Delta guys.”
Anderson performs more than 200 shows a year, and won the 2011 Maple Blues Awards for Entertainer of the Year and Acoustic Act of the Year. He was also nominated for four East Coast Music Association awards.
