We enviromentalists have dropped the ball here. The problem is about 15 years ago so many left the universaly understood focus of fighting pollution by falling in to the nembulous lure of climatology, a sort of doomsday distraction for otherwise affective pollution fighters. True enviromentalism died and left ideological "climatologists" in it's stead.
Carbon, and specifically co2's, became the main focus of enviromentalists. Despite the fact that plans live, thrive and need co'2 to grow, it seems the entire world became anti-plant food.
The result is that we have gasfracking all around us on our Penninsular, with our water tables toxsifying as a result. Pollution has taken a back seat to the nebulous and debilitating ideology of climatology.

Our local Coock Inlet Keepers should have held meetings on Buccaneer and gasfracking 2 years ago.
This community deserves forknowledge of such horrendous and destructive practices as gasfracking long before it's chemical poisons destroy our water tables. Don't look to Cook Inlet Sleepers for a heads up in future. We need agresive anti-pollution observers who don't seek city jobs as climatmsters.
Our no teath enviromentalism will continue untill we stop fighting plant nutients and start ending gasracking and self congratulatory psudo climatology.

How did you fool the natives in Port Graham? Or did the white man talk to white man again. I don't know of any Alaska native that would agree to oil leaks and spills on their hunting lands and waters. Take the money? What is that called? Sell out? Alaskans are smart enough to drill for their own resources with their own people with their own rigs. When the time comes for need, the people will find a way.

The problem is ... "one blowout" should have been the end, not six! And definitely THERE SHOULD BE NO MORE. Your trend of thinking makes your followers believe like "blowouts" are GOOD for the earth. Do the blowouts in your own back yard.

No jobs for Homerites, no fair compensation, no commitment to eco stability, they already have begun not doing what they said they would and this is only the very beginning. Last week, in industry related meetings in Houston, my spouse heard that Cook Inlet is about to be laid wide open for drilling. REALLY? Thats what the top dogs said. Kachemak Bay was appearantly mentioned and (while laughing) a boss said that she couldn't wait to build a vacation home on a platform in the middle of the Bay. While I get that she was joking, THAT is the mindset you are dealing with. Get ready, you cracked open the door and they're gonna burn it down. Not only do they not respect Homer, they don't even care about Homer beyond what you can do for them.

Port Graham would be more than happy to host them, they have one rig that winters there already. They will take the revenue from moorage fees and any ancillary jobs/income.
