Halibut CSP due on Friday

The North Pacific Fishery Management Council is scheduled to take final action on the halibut catch sharing plan between the commercial and charter sectors in the Gulf of Alaska, 3A, and Southeast, 2C this week after Anchorage hearings at the Hilton Hotel.

On Monday a scientific and statistical committee reviewed the issue and Tuesday the advisory panel took public testimony to make a recommendation to the council. Today the council will take reports and public testimony before beginning deliberations. The council has estimated 16 hours for final testimony and deliberations.
The schedule is subject to change depending on the length of public testimony, but deliberations were set for Friday.  The agenda is at:  http://www.fakr.noaa.gov/npfmc/PDFdocuments/meetings/1012Agenda.pdf
