For every article there’s another article that contradicts the other article. If there is a shortage than share the plan on how area residents are going to get the resources or is it going to go to the highest bidder and transported elsewhere?. The incentives are very generous for the companies to develop the resources don’t be in such a hurry to outsource this precious resource until the facts are clear. Let’s put the seat belt on before going for the ride and proceed with caution.

Catch 22. Does the community want companies to find and sell gas in the area??? Trust me if there wasn’t such a need there wouldn’t be such big incentives for companies to come in and produce in the cook inlet. It’s that or import gas at much higher prices making it harder for alaskan households to survive.

For every article warning of an impending gas supply crunch that will not only retard economic growth, deteriorate government funding and leave Alaskans either very cold or paying twice as much to import gas to heat their homes, there is another article supporting the blocking of gas and oil exploration and development……

Every day that development is stalled the situation grows more dire…

Darlin’ …. stupid is a stupid does. Are you drunk? No one here (especially the granola crunchers who are trying to keep the peace) wants to pay. Make Homer “financially strong?” Homer is financially stronger than any other village in Alaska. Not only financially strong, but there is a strength among the people and the land that tops all bonds. Can you understand the workmanship between the people and the land will feed all your children quite well. If you are looking for that much luxury in your life, you should go to San Francisco where oil, money, jobs and all the things you desire in life happen on a daily basis. We haven’t had a problem with heating our places for 10,000 years. What makes you an expert?

Chris, you are nothing but another oil shill, hawking for your master. We all know the plans were already in place without the knowledge of the citizens, and everything you tell us now are big lies. Big lies always accompany Big Oil. Tell us how many acres are tied up from Tall Tree Ave to Kachemak Bay, and how many frackings have already taken place under the ground from there to here. How many acres of forest have been removed, etc. etc. etc. That’s a lot of land to frack … and all of it is on top of Homer.

Do most Homer job seekers have 5 years experience working with the natural gas industry?

I don’t like Granola, and some of us feel it is going backward to ignore recent history, and trust a corporations whose sole motive is personal profit. It is going backward to destroy an environment, the last frontier! for a quick buck for some foreign company that we are supporting with stimulus money WTF!

This land, this is God’s Country, and it has much more meaning than money, not only to US, but to future generations.

What will your children and grandchildren think about you when you have destroyed their land, air and sea? When you have selfishly pulled all the profit from our resources you possibly can, put it in your bank account, meanwhile while telling them to pull themselves up by their bootstraps?

Look at the economy you have already created with your selfishness. The selfish generation has already left a huge burden on future generations, demanding tax cuts during record government spending, choosing war over caring for people… now you want to let corporations destroy all we have left because you are too selfish and blind.

You might be dead by the time everything is destroyed, but I assure you, your children and grandchildren will remember who you are.

I dont know where you are getting your negative information from I am pretty sure it is not true or full of non accurate. There are people from our area working on that rig right now andmaking eally good money.

This selfish attitude you dissenters have is wrong. We need to start concentraing on making Homer financially strong and not a backwards granloa crunching village. People need jobs. People need to feed their familys and people need affordable heat.
