Looks like Brad Falkner has finally seen what employees of the City have known for a while. The City of Homer couldn't exist in its present form without the money generated by the Port. The services provided by the City cost well beyond the City's means of generating money, exclusive of the Harbor funds generated. So, why not put the harbor and improvements to the Spit at the top of the spending lists? After all, without the funds generated there, Homer is just another Sterling.

To Bumppo Bremicker and Lindianne Sarno: So, you say while referring to the police department that, "Many people came forward to tell us of their experiences. We heard numerous serious allegations". Really.....name one or two of these many people you speak of so we can judge for ourselves. Who or what gives you guys the idea you can call all our police and judicial system liars, etc. You my paranoid ones, have become the exact thing you fear. As far as the strip searches are concerned you are both full of crap. Read and educate yourselves on the case law pertaining to that case. A man was legitimately arrested for a warrant, albeit a small traffic warrant and was incarcerated in jail. Many times contraband and drugs as well as small weapons are introduced into our jails inside body cavities. To protect all involved, a search of the entire person must be made....do you have a better idea? Perhaps there would be no case law if the guy hadn't broken the law.
