Winter Trails Day snowshoe hikes
This is a great opportunity to get out and enjoy our winter trails, as the Coalition for Homer Open Space and Trails, and the Center For Alaskan Coastal Studies are co-sponsoring Winter Trails Day snowshoe events on Saturday.
There will be a free, guided, three-mile snowshoe hike on the Baycrest snowshoe trail from noon to 3 p.m. All are welcome, no experience necessary. Bring snowshoes, snacks, something to drink, clothing to be layered and a small daypack, and meet at the Rogers Loop Trailhead, off Rogers Loop Road on Baycrest Hill at noon.
There will also be a guided snowshoe hike at the Wynn Nature Center on Skyline Drive starting at noon. The Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies has snowshoes available free to members and for rent to non-members.
Call 235-6018 for more information on the Baycrest snowshoe hike.
Call 235-6751 for more information about the Wynn Nature Center snowshoe hike or about borrowing or renting snowshoes.
