Community Schools’ ski swap set for Nov. 11

Winter may be coming late but time is still running out to get geared up for outdoor fun in the snow. What better way to accomplish that goal than the annual Community Schools Ski Swap, scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Nov. 11 at the Homer High commons. The event, which includes ski waxing by the Mariner ski team, is free. For more information, contact Mike Illg at 235-6090.

KSC Movie Fundraiser hits Homer Theatre Nov. 13

The Kachemak Ski Club’s rope tow at Ohlson Mountain will get a lift Nov. 13 when the fourth annual KSC Movie Fundraiser takes place at the Homer Theatre, starting at 7 p.m. Donations to keep the rope tow going will be accepted at the event, which will feature a fashion show, displays of all the latest ski gear, product giveaways and a screening of Teton Gravity Research’s latest film, “Re:Session.” For more information, contact George Overpeck at 399-6255.
