Seldovia’s girls and boys junior high basketball teams took third place over the weekend in the Junior High Basketball Small Schools Tournament.
According to Susan B. English School Secretary Sandy Geagel, to top it off, the girls brought home the sportsmanship trophy.
“They did a great job, and it was a fun way to end the season,” she said.
The Sea Otter volleyball team came back with trophies from their tournament at Birchwood Christian School also held over the weekend. The girls came in first place in the silver pool, and then moved on to the gold pool, where they took second place. Geagel said the volleyball girls also brought home the sportsmanship trophy.
As far as Seldovia wrestling goes, Sea Otter wrestlers came back from their trip north with the Seward wrestling team with third-place finishes in the Cordova tournament.
Geagel offered thanks to Seldovia coaches Alvin Swick, Scott Haller, Ila Dillon and Dan Blodgett.
Seldovia volleyball and wrestling awards will be given out Wednesday, Dec. 9, Wednesday at a time to be announced. The junior high basketball awards will be held Friday, Dec. 11.
