Stuff it in a stocking
Children of all ages are invited to join the Pratt Museum for its annual Stocking Stuffer Party on Nov. 28 from 1 to 4 p.m. This year’s free holiday celebration is a wonderful opportunity for parents to find unique and educational toys and gifts in the Museum Store, while kids are busy building Graham Cracker houses, exploring seasonal art activities, decorating cookies, visiting with Santa Claus and listening to holiday music. Bring lots of holiday cheer. For more information, contact the Pratt Museum at 235-8635.

And so it continues …
The Peninsula Art Guild will host its annual Arts and Crafts Fair at Kenai High School on Nov. 27 and 28. Lined up are more than 200 vendors with handcrafted items at reasonable prices. For those who get hungry or thirsty while shopping, there will also be food vendors for lunches or snacks. For the kids, Santa will visit Saturday, the 28, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Booths will open at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. both days. Admission to customers is free and plenty of parking space will be available.
The deadline for submissions to the rotating arts exhibit for the Homer Public Library is Dec. 1. Applications may be downloaded from the City of Homer Library Web site at
library.ci.homer.ak.us/ or picked up from the library.

Nutcracker Arts and Crafts Faire
Nearly 100 local artists and crafters will sell their wares at this year’s Nutcracker Arts and Crafts Faire at the Homer High School. Starting Dec. 5, the event features pottery, jewelry, knitted and sewn items, wood carvings, art prints and photography, toys, preserves, soaps and other health and beauty products, candles, stained glass, warm winter gear and much more. All of the items offered are hand-crafted by local artisans. A trip to the faire provides a variety of gift ideas, as well as an assortment of food vendors to help fuel the shopper’s day.
The Homer Public Library will sponsor a holiday story hour for children at 2 p.m. each day, and Kachemak Kids Learning Center will provide a children’s activity booth to keep the whole family involved. Local musicians will be play throughout the day, and Kachemak Bay Family Planning has invited Santa to be on hand. Bring your own camera and get a picture with the jolly old elf.
The Homer High School Ski Team will also offer a coat check at the front of the building to lighten your load.
Faire Hours are Dec. 5 from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 6, noon to 6 p.m.
