Fabulous 50’s Ritz 2009 Art Preview Exhibit
Preview Art and Adventure Packages that will be up for auction at Pratt Museum’s annual Ritz fundraiser are available for viewing at the Pratt Museum through Nov. 5.
Sea bird carvings are on exhibit in the Marine Gallery. These wooden carvings, by Alan Bennett, feature a unique representation of the tribe Mergini (sea ducks). Heavily impacted by the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill, some have not yet fully recovered.
Kachemak Bay: An Exploration of People and Place. This innovative exhibit is a complete redesign of the Pratt’s main galleries, with Phase I completed in 2004. Community-based videos, photo essays, computer interactives, and visitor-controlled remote video technology take visitors beyond the museum walls to historic and contemporary life around Kachemak Bay, providing an intimate means of understanding people and place.
